‘Horticulture for the Holidays’ at Nicholas Conservatory Dec. 1

University of Illinois Extension presents its annual “Horticulture for the Holidays” at the Nicholas Conservatory Saturday, Dec. 1. The cost to attend is $25 per person, which covers all take-home project materials and instruction.
The event offers participants two hands-on activities, traditional wheat weaving and a folkart painting project, plus a demonstration and keynote from U of I Extension educator Candice Miller about creating long-lasting holiday centerpieces and arrangements using evergreens and other common backyard materials. Learn how to integrate nature’s beauty into your holiday gifts and decorating.
Join U of I Extension at Rockford’s newest horticulture destination, Nicholas Conservatory, for a morning of seasonal demonstrations and creative workshops utilizing natural materials. Event attendees will be able to enter the conservatory for a reduced entrance fee of $5 on the day of the event.
