Aristotle’s Corner offers books, music, movies

Want to check out some new or used books, CDs, DVDs and see a vintage radio collection on display? Aristotle’s Corner, a new store at 3845 E. State St., that opened Oct. 23, 2012. offers all of these plus Internet access. But owner Zhian Rezazadeh wants to offer customers something more — best described as the “Real Thing.”
While he values the advantages of technology, he wants to provide a place where people can enjoy experiences such as reading a real book, listening to music or watching a film not provided on the Internet. He wants to provide an opportunity for people to share intellectual and artistic interests in real conversations not disguised by the cyber curtain and anonymity. “I worked and saved for the last five years to open a book store,” he said.
“Having said this,” he added, “I must point out that I greatly appreciate many of the new technologies, and Aristotle’s Corner provides free and secured access to the Internet. But I also believe that being in touch with the ‘Real Thing’ provides a qualitatively different set of learning and entertainment experiences, which should be appreciated and preserved. For this reason, in addition to offering books, music and movies, we plan to organize regular events such as Poets’ Corner, the Author’s Corner and the Fiddlers’ Corner in order to provide a platform for the members of the community to engage in a real conversation and human interaction.”
