Valewood, your bais and facts are muffled. Mining in china is bad-but that if from CHINAS lack of restriction not people buying it-and no process is pollution free a ten year old child know that-but to build another soure of power is vastly more polluting-and I wonder where you work? Do you know about nuclior? Or steam? I bet not-I do and those are much much worse processes and far worse then windmills-I suppose you might also say windmills kiss birds too? They dont. Someone like yourself starts spouting crap without finding facts: windmill, and hydro power are the cleanezt ways to create power, then solar.....or shall I inform you of how much pollution natural gas, coal and nuclior produces?

Not really sure where to begin with all of the fallacies and misconceptions in your article.

Let's address the blade speed, first of all. That information of up to 187 miles per hour comes from the wind industry itself. It's not a made up figure. A simple Google search will reveal this.

You call wind "non-polluting power" which is the biggest lie ever put out be any company and people buy it without really thinking about it. Exactly HOW can you build 400 to 500 foot tall industrial machines and NOT have any pollution?

You need to stop buying into the propaganda that the wind industry spreads around. No bias on their part, huh? Only billions and billions of dollars to lose once the public knows what a monumental money scam wind turbines are.

1) Neodymium used in the magnets is mined in China where once fertile and desperately needed farmland has been turned into lakes of highly toxic cesspools....sitting there for who knows how many decades, but certainly the farmland is lost forever. Not to mention that the poor who are living around these toxic lakes are getting extremely sick. (I guess that doesn't matter to you greenies, because it's on the other side of the world.)

2) Vestas (the wind turbines manufacturer) in an internal report advised that one ton (that's ONE TON) of hazardous and toxic waste is created with the production of every single turbine blade. Google the report, it's not hard to find. What do you suppose they do with that one ton of toxic waste? It doesn't just vanish into the air.

3) Bisphenol A is used in the blades. Does that ring a bell at all? It's a highly toxic material that breaks down with exposure to the elements and feeds into the air. No pollution there, right?

4) Each turbine requires a massive 22,000 lb concrete base. A turbine has a lifespan of roughly 20 years. At the end of that time, IF there is anyone around willing to spend the minimum quarter million dollars to take it down, what do they do with all of that mostly non-recyclable material? And as for that concrete base? It's too huge to remove, so it's covered over and left to leach into soil, rendering it useless for any sort of crops and polluting the groundwater.

Green and clean? That's one of the biggest advertising lies in the history of the world.
