‘Managing Diabetes Through the Holidays’ offered Dec. 6

Tantalizing treats are an inevitable part of the holiday season. Many people try to avoid over-indulging during this festive time of year, only to find it a challenge.
For people with diabetes, it can be especially difficult to deal with the traditions and temptations of the season without negatively affecting diabetes control. Often, people with diabetes have worked hard all year to maintain their health.
University of Illinois Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator Marilyn Csernus, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator, is offering help for people in this situation. She will teach “Managing Diabetes Through the Holidays” at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at University of Illinois Extension — Ogle County, 421 W. Pines Road, Oregon, Ill. Cost is $5 per person.
