DEKALB, Ill. — Infamous comedian, Internet sensation, cult icon and “America’s Funnyman” Neil Hamburger will perform at Otto’s Niteclub in DeKalb, Ill., at 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16. Tickets are $10.

Neil Hamburger is the alter-ego of comedian Gregg Turkington. He has released five CDs and two DVDs on the indie stalwart Drag City label, touring the world incessantly, performing in venues ranging from decrepit small-town pizza parlors to the Olympic Stadium in Sydney, Australia, most recently touring with Tenacious D.

Hamburger is a staple of Tom Green’s weekly webcast television show and stars in the film Tenacious D & The Pick of Destiny alongside Jack Black and Kyle Gass and Comedy Central’s hit show Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!.

The most improbable of cult figures … an exercise in entertainment masochism,” wrote the Washington Post.
