Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) ReStore is celebrating its Grand ReStore Re-Opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the new location in North Towne Mall.
The building supplies resale shop is two doors east of the former location at 986 W. Riverside Blvd. Volunteers spent October remodeling the new space and relocating inventory.
To celebrate the move, the first 15 people in the door Nov. 17 will get a free, reusable shopping tote along with assorted coupons. Prizes will be given away throughout the day, along with one-day special sales on many inventory items.
Similar to other resale shops, the ReStore receives its inventory from surplus materials donated by local builders, contractors and business owners. Additionally, homeowners involved in remodeling projects will donate their gently-used materials.
The ReStore’s profits are donated to the Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) homeownership program. It accounts for 40 percent of the affiliate’s income
Since it was established in 2007, the Habitat ReStore has donated all profits to support RAHFH’s mission to build affordable homes to be sold to qualified low-income families in Rockford. The fourth ReStore-funded home was built this summer and sold in September.
