Help keep an eye on Rockford parks

November 14, 2012

Staff Report

The Rockford Park District Police Department encourages community involvement in helping with safety and security of the park system by participating in the Eagle Eye Park Watch program, an effective tool in fighting crime.

The program is similar to neighborhood watch programs, and is used as a foundation for many other educational programs conducted by the Park Police Department.

The department asks citizens to be alert and report vandalism, safety hazards, littering/dumping, fires, crime and suspicious activity right away by calling 9-1-1 for emergencies, or (815) 966-2900 for non-emergencies.

The Community Services Division of the Department has designed safety classes for schools as well as for neighborhood groups and programs.

To schedule a Park Watch presentation for your organization, call Community Services Officer Lisa Hodges at (815) 289-0047.
