Rockford chamber chorus Camerata Emanon, directed by Rulee Stallmann, will present “Love Songs,” a concert of a cappella and accompanied choral works, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at Unitarian Universalist Church, 4848 Turner St., Rockford.
This sweeping ode to love in its many guises encompasses our most intimate of emotions within the lush, 19th-century music of Johannes Brahms, up to the ethereal, contemporary arrangements of Eric Whitacre.
Set to the poetry of William Shakespeare, Garcilaso de la Vega, Ossian, e.e. Cummings, and many more, these songs of love reveal nostalgic remembrance, longing, flirting, loss and the passion of new romance.
Guest accompanists for this program include Rachel Handlin, violin; Michael Beert, cello; Nanette Felix, harp; Trish Rooney, piano; and Becky Asher and Beth Kinch, horn.
Tickets are $10 adults, $5 students.
