‘The Way of the World’ opens at Rockford College Nov. 15

Staff Report

Rockford College will host The Way of the World by William Congreve this fall, Nov. 15-18. The play will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, and 2 p.m., Sunday, in the Clark Arts Center, Maddox Theatre at Rockford College, 5050 E. State St., Rockford.

Featuring Artists’ Ensemble’s Steve F. Vrtol in the role of Sir Willful Witwoud, a country squire come to town, The Way of the World tells a complex comedic tale woven in the universal and timeless truths of relationships complicated by money, hypocrisy, greed and morality. A timeless treasure first performed in England in 1700, you’ll find yourself amused by how little the human condition has changed over the past three centuries. This play is directed by Assistant Professor of Performing Arts Deborah Mogford.

Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. Contact the Rockford College Box Office at (815) 226-4100 for tickets. To see the fall 2012 Forum Series line-up, visit http://www.rockford.edu/?TheatreSeason.
