The City of Rockford would like to remind citizens of the annual changes to garbage and yard waste pick-up.

Garbage collection schedule for Thanksgiving holiday

The garbage collection for City of Rockford residents over the Thanksgiving holiday week will be as follows: Regular pick-up schedule for Monday, Nov. 19; Tuesday, Nov. 20; and Wednesday, Nov. 21. Pick-up for Thursday, Nov. 22, will be delayed one day until Friday, Nov. 23.

The Household Hazardous Waste Site at 3333 Kishwaukee St. will be closed for the weekend of Nov. 24 and 25 due to the holiday.

Seasonal citywide yard waste pick-up ending

The 2012 season for citywide yard waste pick-up will conclude with final pick-up of yard waste the week of Nov. 26 through Nov. 29. Yard waste will not be picked up again until the compost site re-opens in the spring of 2013.
