Two suspects sought in Nov. 16 home invasion on Burton Street

Nicholas M. Bryant, 28, and Mechos C. Freeman, 24, both of Rockford, are sought by Rockford police in connection with a Nov. 16 home invasion on Burton Street.
Both suspects face three counts of home invasion, one count of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Arrest warrants for both suspects have been obtained by police, and anyone with information about the whereabouts of Bryant of Freeman is encouraged to contact the Rockford police shift commander at (815) 987-5824 or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Nov. 16, Rockford police responded to 1219 Burton St. in reference to a home invasion. While investigating the incident, officers learned the victim was shot in the leg by the suspects who were armed with firearms. During the incident, the dog inside the residence was shot and killed by the suspects. The suspects were described as three black men.
