15-year-old arrested in connection with series of burglary to motor vehicle incidents

A 15-year-old male juvenile of Rockford has been arrested in connection with a series of burglary to motor vehicle incidents.
The juvenile was apprehended after being caught by police shortly after 1 a.m., Dec. 2. Police were responding to 2217 26th St. in response to a burglary to vehicle in progress. A witness advised officers they observed two subjects breaking into a neighbor’s vehicle and provided the officers with a basic description of one of the subjects.
Officers checked the area and located a male juvenile subject hiding in some bushes a few blocks away. After a brief investigation, the subject was detained and charged with burglary to vehicle, attempted burglary to vehicle, possession of drug equipment, violation of the Cannabis Control Act and curfew violation.
Upon further investigation, burglary to motor vehicle cases at 132 Paris, 226 N. London and 526 Robert were also cleared by the juvenile’s arrest.
