‘Christmas with Kantorei’ offered Dec. 16 and 21

• Acclaimed boys’ singers offer festive sounds of the season

Kantorei, The Singing Boys of Rockford, will present two performances of “Christmas with Kantorei.” The matinee will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St., Rockford. The evening concert will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at First Lutheran Church, 225 S. Third St., Rockford.

Enjoy the festive sounds of the season as Kantorei presents a concert of carols, old and new, hymns, and anthems celebrating Christmas around the world, including traditional favorites. Greg Gyllsdorff is the featured organist.

Now in its 49th year, Kantorei continues to offer boys ages 6-18 in the community a musical education while providing opportunities for personal growth. Joel Ross is the music director, Bradley Koloch is the associate director, and Trudy Anderson is the assistant director.

Acclaimed for performances sung with discipline, maturity and sensitivity, the boys have delighted audiences locally, nationally and throughout the world. They recently earned two silver medals for their performances at the World Choir Games held in Cincinnati. Their sixth CD, Heart and Voice, is available for holiday gift-giving.
