Man on parole for residential burglary arrested following attempted burglary

Jeremy Tyus, 30, of Rockford, who is on parole for residential burglary, was arrested Dec. 12 after an attempted burglary at 1620 Chelsea, Rockford. He has been charged with attempted residential burglary.
At approximately 9:52 a.m., Dec. 12, police responded to 1620 Chelsea in response to an attempted burglary. The owner of the residence advised police that a black male attempted to gain entry into his residence by forcing open the door.
Rockford police burglary detectives initiated follow-up investigation into the residential burglary, which led to the arrest of Tyus.
