Police in search of suspect in Antioch Drive armed robbery

The growing rash of armed robberies in Rockford continued over the weekend as a couple was reportedly held up in their own driveway on Antioch Drive around 11 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16.

According to police, the couple was returning home when a maroon minivan pulled up behind them. A man jumped out of the van, brandished a black handgun and demanded the victims give him cash.

The victims gave the suspect money, and then he fled in the van. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark pants. Two other people were in the van with him.
