RFD reports 4.8 percent increase in passenger traffic in November

November passenger traffic at the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) is up 4.8 percent with 14,181 passengers utilizing the airport during the month, compared to 13,533 passengers in November 2011. RFD’s load factor for all passenger flights in November was 90 percent.

Year-to-date passenger traffic at RFD is up 13 percent. From January through November, 195,279 passengers used RFD in 2012, compared to 172,553 passengers during the same time period in 2011. With its consistent passenger growth all year long, RFD was able to surpass its 2011 passenger total of 190,767 in 11 months in 2012.

RFD Director Mike Dunn said: “With our focus on leisure travel, we have opened up opportunities this year to Denver and Punta Cana. Both of these destinations have had a significant impact on our passenger numbers in 2012. Next year is looking good with the addition of Montego Bay, Jamaica, in January and restored service to the Ft. Myers area in February.”

RFD has nonstop flights to Cancun, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Punta Cana and Tampa Bay. Service to Montego Bay, Jamaica, via Apple Vacations begins Jan. 28. Allegiant will start service to Ft. Myers, Fla., via Punta Gorda beginning Feb. 14.
