Staff Report
The ballot is set for the Tuesday, Feb. 26, primary election, which will feature, among other races, candidates for Rockford mayor, Rockford Board of Education (BOE) and Rockford City Council.
Among the notable races, 96-year-old Alice Saudargas has thrown her hat into the ring for another run at a seat on the BOE. She will run against incumbent Ken Scrivano.
Meantime, Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey (I) will be seeking a third term as mayor in the Tuesday, April 9, general election. Also running for mayor are Democrat James Hughes and Republican Michael Kleen.
Following is a look at other candidates who have filed to appear on the ballot in area races:

Note: Anthony Foreman, former owner of JT’s Bourbon Street Grille, filed to run as a Democrat, but the City of Rockford Board of Election Commissioners voted to remove his name from the primary ballot Dec. 10.
