Hypocrisy of politicians about value of life

January 2, 2013

The headline on the front page of the Rockford Register Star for Monday, Dec. 17, “Discarding infants takes toll on society,” struck me as hypocritical.

Kellie Stockton is to be tried for abandoning her child, Baby Crystal, to die out in the cold.

Police are investigating the death of Baby Noah, whose body was found among thousands of tons of trash at a garbage-sorting facility in Roscoe.

Yet, we have a sitting president who, when he was an Illinois legislator, was the only one to vote to allow the killing of any baby born alive during an abortion.

In Reno, Nev., a court case put the life of a healthy 14-week-old baby at stake, because the mother is a 32-year-old mentally disabled woman. She wanted to have her baby, and so did her parents, who are also her legal guardians. Several couples stepped forward with offers to adopt the baby.

But the government stepped in and argued in a Nevada court that it would be in the mother’s “best interests” to force her to have an abortion (murder her child) against her will.

When our country’s leaders and policies advocate the murder of babies, it should be no surprise that citizens feel nothing wrong when they do what their government supports.

    Good point, Phillip.

Here’s another one for you…thousands of children die every year at the hands of drunk drivers, but the Government does nothing.

But let twenty children die at the hands of a madman, and they jump on gun control. What hypocrites!
