Your Horoscope: Week of Jan. 2-8, 2013
By Denise Guzzardo
Week of Jan. 2-8, 2013
This Week: Saturn moved out of Libra and into Scorpio this past October for a two-and-a-half-year visit. As we enter the New Year, I thought I would share with you how this will affect and emphasize your life. Saturn can be a bit of a grumbly old bear at times, but in the same token allow us to move out of our comfort zones and provide us with newfound strength. However, on a lighter note, Venus remains in Sagittarius and remains there until Jan. 8. After moving out of Scorpio, we can expect romantic energies to shift from the heavy intensity of focusing on one situation or individual to a more buoyant, open, flowing romantic element. Straightforward and playful are the love actions we can embrace during this time. This love energy is based more on a universal type of vibration, allowing the truth to enlighten us and those who are near and dear to our hearts. Happy New Year!
Aries (March 21 to April 19) — This year will be one of great changes for you, with Saturn in your eighth house. New connections begin to emerge in your social sector as well as career path. It is difficult sometimes to make room for changes — we are creatures of habit. However, last year came through like a wrecking ball, giving you no choice but to move out of your comfort zone. Expect to see the blessings of this now in 2013. When all is said and done, you will slap the side of your head and say to yourself, “Wow, I could have had a V8 sooner. Blessed be Aries.”
Taurus (April 20 to May 20) — With Saturn in place in your seventh house of partnerships until 2015, you will find there are many lessons to be learned here. Perhaps this will be the first time you have the wisdom to claim some responsibility in the roles you’ve played in your past relationship sectors. Once you open your eyes a bit, you may even discover you have projected some of these elements onto family members or friendships. When these aspects begin to affect others, it can create a tremendous amount of confusion and, in some cases, heartache. This year will allow you plenty of time to reflect on this as well as the ability to go within and repair those old wounds once and for all. If you try to avoid this, it will only become louder as the year progresses. When all is said and done, you will be all the wiser for it.
Gemini (May 21 to June 20) — Saturn’s journey through your sixth house this year will force you to address your daily work routines and health matters. This may have been an element you skated around by focusing on turbulent love relations or friendship challenges last year. But now it’s time to change your course and use this tool to create a better health and work environment for you. Saturn can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be mean. Work with Saturn and allow these elements to improve the quality of your life. This is the best time to unveil the new and improved you. Take advantage of this little workhorse’s energy.
Cancer (June 21 to July 22) — This year will provide you with clarity regarding your personal relationships and children. The best way to be received well by others is to start from within. Have you questioned your own value or ability to be loved? Saturn will bring you the visual aids you require to move graciously through these roadblocks and provide you with solid ground. This could also be an aspect that you’re helping someone else through as well. This time frame will allow the universe to speak through you and guide those around you to inner peace. You are an electrically-charged current of love this year. Utilize it to your advantage.
Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22) — Saturn’s lesson in your fourth house of home, property and maternal influences may not come so easy at first. This is a time when the past is definitely affecting the present. You may not feel as though you have the strength to stand up for yourself, so you may resist change or another may be strong-arming you into staying the same. Watch out for those who invoke fear and negativity during this coming year. You need to be able to look in the mirror and know you are strong, worthy of happiness and wellness. When you begin to believe this for yourself, others will notice it within you as well. Allow Saturn to keep you strong. Work with this energy, not against it.
Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22) — Saturn in your third house of communications may find you second-guessing that very gift you normally achieve so effortlessly. Acquaintances or siblings may, out of their own fears, attempt to stifle your growth and development. Be very aware of this, and try to remember this is their energy — not yours — to wear. You may also feel as though you are being forced to produce something, a pet project or long-term goal. We all know the more we try to force an issue, the more complicated it becomes. Allow Saturn’s taskmaster vibration to complement these shifts in reality, not complicate them. You will also be letting go of things that no longer serve you in life. Change is good. Go with the flow.
Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22) — Saturn has left you for now, and you are all the more wiser for it. As it moves into your second house of finance, it will teach you a valuable lesson about your cash flow as well as what really matters in life. You have not gone without thus far. Saturn will not let you down. However, some of these actions need to be re-examined by you as well. How much do you really need, and are you tripping over a $100 bill to pick up a nickel? Get rid of property or items that are bogging you down and begin to streamline your life during this planetary influence. You will come out smelling like a rose when all is said and done. Avoid materialism at all costs. Some of the best things in life are free.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21) — Saturn moving into your first house may find you challenging your own identity and value at first. Please try not to be so critical of where you are at this point in life. Saturn has arrived to help you, not hinder you — trust me on this one. You may have felt this restriction was more challenging when Saturn was in Libra than it will actually be working with you, allowing you to build muscles and sharpen your craft. Even though there have been restrictions over the past couple of years, you have soldiered on. Connections made during this time put you on the path of success. This won’t be evident overnight, but it will arrive by 2015. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21) — Saturn has arrived in your 12th house of final endings, as opposed to new beginnings, during this transitional time. The 12th house can be a dumping ground of all kinds of worn-out thought processes and ideas of who you are or how you truly perceive others. This may crash like a wrecking ball at first, but never fear, this is for your own good. This is what some may call a spring cleaning of your psyche. Although it may create a little fear or discontentment at first, trust me, emotional relief will be arriving soon. During this time, you are able to reconstruct your personal goals honoring your identity, which may have been misplaced over the past few years. The good news is financially this will prove to be a very strong period for you. Enjoy this time of growth and development.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19) — As Saturn moves into your 11th house, you can finally see what works for you and what does not. You may find your connections with others seemingly superficial or filled with lackluster. It is as though you have taken a trip to Oz and now have realized there is no place like home. The good news is you’re able to make new connections that improve the quality of your life and expand your long-term goals. Partnerships under this influence tend to flourish, but it takes time to develop a solid root system. Patience is a virtue, and this time-frame will teach you just that. Like Sagittarius, you will also be able to let go of those situations that no longer serve a purpose in your life. However, this makes room for the new opportunities on the horizon.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18) — Saturn in your 10th house clears the way for you to make your dreams come true. You’re in the spotlight, so be prepared and step out with your best foot forward. Your personal appearance will improve under these influences, and others begin to see you in a newfound positive light. You will find support from the most unusual individuals during this time, and some of this may come as quite a shock to you. Ride the waves of this powerful time, and make it count. A major player may be removed from your circle during this planetary activity as well. It’s for the best — they were only getting in your way.
Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 20) — Saturn in your ninth house becomes your self-improvement cheerleader over the next two-and-a-half years. Be open and receptive to these opportunities. You can’t learn anything kicking and screaming all the way down the hall because you won’t be able to hear your own inner voice. This also becomes a time of additional education as you develop a new skill. You will find at the end of this cycle that you are very good at the skills you are about to acquire now, and emotional fulfillment is on the horizon. The ninth house also indicates long-distance travel as well as legal documents. I don’t think I would challenge the legal system at this time. This may get in the way of your long-term goals.
