Mr. Andrews:
Thank you very much for putting into words what REAL Americans are feeling. I don’t know how the “American” people has stooped this low. It must be the schools teaching “America” isn’t the only Shining city left on this earth.
Why doesn’t Nancy Churchill A Progressive Visionary,Mark Hister & Susan pick out any country in the world and I will pay a one way ticket there after they give up the United States Citizenship. This country was Great before obama and it will be again when The Real People of this Great Nation wake up and kick out the communist that run it now.

Good for you George! I would wish that all Americans could have had the nice life that you apparently enjoyed. I would guess that you are white, relatively financially comfortable, healthy for at least your young life, and supported by a fully intact family and close community that included a church that was homogenous, with other members sharing everything that you experienced. That America that you fear is lost is, in fact, the America that you lived and enjoyed. What you may lack is empathy for the countless residents of America (not Americans actually by your accounting) who did not enjoy the life that you led. Minority status, being subjected to racial bias or worse, poor health from the start, loss of family support or abuse by the very family that should have been supportive, and loss of community support due to bias and rejection (that you encourage) would likely have significantly changed the person that you are today. How well would you have functioned with those shackles around your ankles?

Get this George; it is not about left and right, real Americans or “progressives”, socialists or proper hard working capitalists. It is about caring for all who inhabit this country and trying to live in their shoes for a time. We are all fellow passengers headed to the grave, and in my mind, the only thing that is really important in our lives is how we care for the less fortunate. Your ideal America never existed. There is always room for improvement, and “progressives” are only those people who are trying earnestly to make it better, if only for a short time.

Sad paranoid letter. Full of fear and hate. Were we as a society really better off in the 40’s, and 50’s? I believe that the majority of Americans realize that there is more than one way to live a life. I do not want things to go back to the level of discrimination and hate there was. There is something to be said for progress.

Good letter, George. I, like you, ask the same questions.

I’ve watched our country devolve from a moral, good place to a perverted anything-goes, “do it to somebody else before they do it to you” horrible place.

Unfortunately, I come to a different conclusion. The young mush-headed youth of today are being sucked in by our Marxist President.

I fear this generation will be the end of America, and the beginning of a marxist dictatorship. The kids of today believe they are entitled to freedom.

They will be harshly taught how wrong they are.
