Man found dead on Riverside Boulevard identified, believed to have died of natural causes

A body was found in some bushes in the 3200 block of West Riverside Boulevard in Rockford Wednesday morning, Jan. 16. The body has been identified as that of Kenneth D. Kotouc, 35, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.
According to a press release from the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office, Kotouc was in Rockford for alcoholic treatment at Reformers Unanimous rehabilitation center. He was reported missing from the center Tuesday, Jan. 15. He reportedly had “in-and-out” privileges at the center.
According to the Coroner’s Office, there were no signs of trauma on Kotouc’s body, which was frozen. Time of death has been ruled at 11:20 a.m., Jan. 16. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, Jan. 18.
Although there is no indication of foul play in Kotouc’s death, the Rockford Police Department is investigating the incident.
