SYCAMORE, Ill. — Where can you chat with a dinosaur expert as you sip wine from across the globe, listen to steel pan drumming while enjoying food from around the world, learn about prairie restoration and then meet a live bird of prey? There’s only one place: the Groundhog Gala.

The Midwest Museum of Natural History in Sycamore, Ill., is presenting its fifth annual Groundhog Gala fund-raiser from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26. Guests will enjoy an evening complete with music, exhibitors, a silent auction, treats from around the world, open bar and exhibitors.

This year, the museum is featuring a coffee specialist, paleontologist, steel pan drummer, harpist and more.

The gala is definitely unique,” said Museum Director Molly Trickey. “There are very few fund-raisers where you can learn so much!”

The Groundhog Gala is the museum’s largest fund-raiser of the year, and all proceeds support educational opportunities for the community. Tickets for the event are $30 each or two for $50; stop by the museum or call (815) 895-9777 to reserve tickets.

Midwest Museum of Natural History, 425 W. State St., Sycamore, Ill., is a nonprofit organization. Visit www.mmnh.org or call (815) 895-9777 for more details.
