BELVIDERE, Ill. — Independent filmmakers Keith Romine and Berdella Endress will be traveling to Duncan, Okla., Jan. 25 for a festival showing of their locally-produced supernatural horror film That’s My Girl.

The short film will be screening as an official selection of award-winning Trail Dance Film Festival, twice named to MovieMaker magazine top 25 festival lists, in addition to other accolades.

In the supernatural genre short, 6-year-old Alex (Ella Hardy of Rockford) is being trained by her step-father (Ty Yaeger Jr. of Rockford) to take over the family business … of stealing souls; but things are not always as they seem, and in the end, Alex reveals she has a plan of her own.

Romine and Endress are in pre-production on their upcoming feature film project Trapped. Trapped began as an idea by Romine to create a family-friendly short horror film for young acting students in classes he teaches at his local Belvidere YMCA and Rock Valley Community College. The story has since taken on a life of its own, and has evolved into a full-length feature narrative with a cast including more than 30 talented young actors from across northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and eastern Iowa.

Pre-production efforts for Trapped are focused on raising the funds necessary to complete such a large-scale project. The producers were elated to learn late in 2012 that Trapped had been accepted into Independent Filmmaker Project’s (IFP) Fiscal Sponsorship program. New York-based IFP is the nation’s largest independent filmmaker organization, and fiscal sponsorship allows companies and individuals to make tax-deductible contributions to Trapped through the fiscal sponsor. Anyone, business or individual, interested in contributing to the Trapped production fund or to learn about marketing opportunities such as product placement, brand association, etc., can contact Romine at (815) 540-3439, fatheadfilms@aol.com or donate directly via the Trapped link on IFP’s website at http://fiscal.ifp.org/project.cfm/560/.
