Reader thanks ‘Tech-Friendly’ columnist

Editor’s note: The following e-mail was sent to Paul Gorski in response to his Dec. 19-25, 2012, “Tech-Friendly” column, “Unlimited nationwide home phone service for $20 per month.” The e-mail is reprinted here with permission from the author.
Paul,
Thank you. Your writing has paid off. I appreciate the article and more specific AT&T info. We gave up our land line for cells two-and-a-half years ago, but realized we were paying for a basic talk/text plan, which is much more than we need/use. Kept hitting walls for a better price that met our needs.
The wireless home phone article opened a new door just when we thought we were stuck. We are signed up and waiting delivery of our unit using one of our cell numbers. Once it’s in, I’ll cancel my cell service and get a Virgin mobile basic plan for on-the-road and emergencies. All total, we’ll save $55 a month. That should almost pay for plane tickets to our grandson’s high school graduation.
