Clerks at three local businesses cited for selling alcohol to minors

Clerks at three local businesses have been cited for sale of alcoholic products to minors following a Jan. 24 alcohol compliance check by Rockford Police and the Winnebago County Health Department.
Clerks at BP Springfield Petroleum, 453 N. Springfield Ave.; Citgo Mini Mart, 2837 11th St.; and Petromax, 4315 Auburn St., were all cited following the check.
The Rockford Police Department Community Services Unit combined efforts with the Winnebago County Health Department to conduct the checks at 38 retailers in the City of Rockford.
During the checks, revenue from the health department and minors employed by the health department were utilized to make controlled purchases of alcoholic products from these businesses.
