Discount coupons to Feb. 1-2 Monster Jam offered in return for Jan. 26 donations to Rescue Mission

Feld Motor Sports and Monster Jam are teaming up with the Rockford Rescue Mission to encourage the community to get behind the wheel to drive donations for the nonprofit.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, individuals who make a donation of new or gently-used items to the Rockford Rescue Mission’s Thrift Store will receive a discount coupon to see Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
The Rockford Rescue Mission Thrift Store is at 2710 20th St., Rockford. The resale store accepts donations of quality clothing, household and gift items. The Thrift Store uses any income from sales to support the mission’s programs.
Monster Jam will perform at the BMO Harris Bank Center, 300 Elm St., Rockford, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, and 2 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2. A Party in the Pits is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday.
The shows feature Monster Jam stars Black Stallion, Iron Warrior, Get Er Done, Robo Machine, Rockford’s own Mechanical Mischief and Rap Attack.
Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, Monster Jam trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. They can fly up to125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.
Tickets to see Monster Jam start at $20 for adults and are available at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office, online at www.thebmoharrisbankcenter.com [2] or by phone at (815) 968-5222. Children’s tickets (ages 2-12) are $5. Tickets to Party in the Pits can be purchased for an additional $10 for adults or $5 for kids (ages 2-12).
