Police in search of clues after body found in alley near Edgemont in Rockford

Shortly after 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, members of the Rockford Police Department and Rockford Fire Department were dispatched to the alley that runs west from the 2400 block of Edgemont in reference to a possible deceased person. Upon arrival, the body of a white male, later identified as 23-year-old Kelsey Fowler of Rockford, was located.

Drug use is believed to have been a factor in Fowler’s death, and the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office is planning an autopsy for Monday, Jan. 28.
