Rockford Peace & Justice Action Committee will host a special sale of civil rights and black memorabilia books and posters as well as a display of political pins from the Civil Rights era in honor of Black History Month.
The Black History Month Sale and Display is at JustGoods Fair Trade Store, 201 Seventh St., Rockford, and is open Friday, Feb. 1, until Thursday, Feb. 28, during JustGoods store hours, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.
The many books, including children’s books for sale, are secondhand and cheaply priced. On display, but not for sale, are political pins from the civil rights struggles, abolitionist (anti-slavery) books from before the Civil War, and an anti-slavery flier from 1835.
