‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ at Main Street Players of Boone County

BELVIDERE, Ill. — Main Street Players of Boone County will present Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring, Feb. 8-10 and 15-17, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
The play will be performed at the Community Building Complex of Boone County, 111 W. First St., Belvidere, Ill.
The charming, seemingly innocent and sweet old spinster Brewster sisters are devoted to family and a unique version of charitable work. However, their nephew discovers that they have a gruesome hobby and declares that “insanity runs in the family.” Could it be that his dear, sweet aunts are homicidal maniacs?
This classic comedy stands the test of time to remain as funny today as it was in the 1941 Frank Capra adaptation.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (age 65 and older) and $5 for students.
