LISLE, Ill. — The City of Rockford, along with McClure Engineering Associates, were awarded a Special Achievement Award Feb. 8 by the Illinois Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies for the design and construction of the Riverwalk Museum Campus project. It was one of only 11 projects in the State of Illinois to receive the Special Achievement Award designation at the 42nd Annual Engineering Excellence Awards.

There was considerable creativity and engineering expertise that was necessary to integrate the Riverwalk with the museum campus, and our city engineering team and McClure Engineering did a terrific job,” said Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey (I).

Paul DeBruyne, president of McClure Engineering Associates, said: “This will be part of the Rock River landscape and museum campus for generations to enjoy. We were proud to be a part of bringing this project to fruition for Rockford.”

This is the second state award the Riverwalk project has received over the last three months. In 2012, the construction company that built the Rockford Riverwalk, Illinois Constructors, received a Contractor of the Year Award from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
