Guilford’s Chamberlain signs with UW-Whitewater baseball

Rockford Guilford’s Steven Chamberlain has committed to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for baseball.

As a junior, Chamberlain was named NIC-10 first-team All-Conference, a NIC-10 Scholar Athlete, and a member of the Northern Illinois Baseball Classic and Suburban Baseball Tournament teams.

Ranked No. 89 in Illinois by Prep Baseball Report, Chamberlain had a .417 batting average with two home runs and 43 RBIs for Guilford in 2012.

The middle infielder and pitcher plays summer ball with the Rangers Midwest Scout Team and has played locally with Hard Knox.

Historically strong, UW-Whitewater finished the 2012 season with a 33-17 record and is ranked No. 18 in the national preseason polls.
