Oregon’s Rock River Center hosts Valentine’s Sweetheart Dance Feb. 17
Online Staff Report
OREGON, Ill. — Rock River Center, 810 S. 10th St., Oregon, Ill., is inviting everyone to enjoy an afternoon of music and dance in a Valentine’s Day atmosphere from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17.
The Music Express will provide the reason to get out on the dance floor with your “Sweetheart.” Larry and Tom were well received at Rock River Center’s Harvest Dance in October, and return for this event. They use keyboards and percussion instruments to mix ballroom, country, waltz, rumba, fox trot and swing to provide easy-to-dance-to music.
Not having a partner is no excuse to stay home since the police and fire department personnel from throughout Ogle County have been asked to come out in their dress uniforms and invite “single” senior guests to take a spin on the dance floor.
Valentine “sweets” and gift baskets to bid on will also be included.
Admission is $7 per person, payable at the door. Proceeds will be presented to recent local fire victims Thomas Jones and Chelsey Janssen.
