Clerks at two stores cited for selling tobacco products to minors after city-wide compliance check

Clerks at Logli Supermarket, 3150 N. Rockton Ave., and Stop N Shop, 2501 Huffman Blvd., Rockford, were cited for sale of tobacco products to minors following a city-wide compliance check Monday, Feb. 18.

The Rockford Police Department Community Services Unit combined efforts with the Winnebago County Health Department Feb. 18 to conduct city-wide tobacco compliance checks at 118 businesses that sell tobacco products in the City of Rockford. Minors employed by the Winnebago County Health Department were utilized to make controlled purchases of cigarettes from these businesses.
