Dr. Julia’s Inn: The correlation between weight loss, sleep and thyroid issues

Part 2 of a 3-part series
This is part two of a three-part series article about the correlation I personally see between weight loss and sleep. This part has to do with the Autonomic Nervous System (A.N.S.).
The A.N.S. has two parts: sympathetic and para-sympathetic. The sympathetic side of the A.N.S. is in charge of fight and flight. If a bear comes into the room, your instincts would be to fight the bear or run from the bear. This system of the A.N.S. should be up and running during the day.
The second part of the A.N.S. is called the para-sympathetic. This system controls our sleep, and it should be raised at night so we can fall asleep and stay asleep. When people have sleep issues, what I see personally over at my office is that clients are not able to shut down the sympathetic to sleep, and they are not able to have the para-sympathetic be able to rise high enough at night to sleep.
When this does happen to clients, usually an organ or organs are taking a toll. The challenges can come from a thyroid, adrenals, liver or digestion, just to name a few. Through applied kinesiology, I look to see what part of the A.N.S. is not doing its job; then, I look to see what organ or organs are hypo or hyperactive. Here is a wonderful testimony that I received from a client, Joyce, who was having sleep issues.
Sleep, sleep, sleep
It has now been three months since I saw Julia for insomnia. I am very pleased with the results. I’m sleeping!! Most nights I fall asleep so quickly, I am unaware of time. I just put my head on the pillow, close my eyes and sleep. I cannot explain what a relief this is. I no longer dread the night. On the rare occasion I am unable to get to sleep quickly, I’ve found the reason stems from the fact that I’ve become restless somewhere in my life that day, and when I resolve the issue, sleep returns. The products Julia suggested that I needed through applied kinesiology enhanced my body’s ability to sleep without side effects. The initial cost was well worth the results. I am at the point now where my body needs less and less herbal help to sleep. So, the cost long term is not much. Being able to sleep has changed my life physically and emotionally for the better.
Thank you, Julia.
