Police operations, procedures topic of 12th Ward community meeting Feb. 27

A 12th Ward community meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort, 700 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford. The purpose of the meeting is to address issues related to police operations and procedures.

Police use of force and the role of the Winnebago/Boone County Integrity Task Force concerning investigations such as officer-involved shootings will also be discussed. There will be some time reserved for questions and general discussion.

Rockford Ald. John Beck (R-12), Rockford Police Chief Chet Epperson, Deputy Chief David Hopkins and Sgt. Michael Dalke, Loves Park Police Chief Jim Puckett and Lt. Todd Shaver of the Illinois State Police will be present.
