March 9 Zumbathon benefits YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign

LOVES PARK, Ill. — The YMCA of Rock River Valley, Northeast Family YMCA, has announced its Second Annual Zumbathon in support of the 2013 Strong Kids Campaign.
The fun, energetic, two-hour Zumbathon will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at the Northeast Family YMCA, 8451 Orth Road, Loves Park, Ill. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All the proceeds go toward the 2013 Strong Kids Campaign.
Making a difference is the focus of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The Strong Kids Campaign supports Big Brothers Big Sisters, Black/Latino Achievers, Camp Winnebago (sending child to camp), LIVESTRONG at the YMCA (cancer survivor exercise program), before and after school programs in Rockford and Harlem School Districts, and the Open Doors program.
The charity event will be led by YMCA Zumba instructors and is an opportunity to dance, move, sweat, groove and have fun for a great cause. Participants are asked to wear comfortable workout attire and exercise/running shoes. The theme is “Shake Your Shamrock.” T-shirts will be for sale at the event, which will also feature raffles.
