Suspect in rural Winnebago County burglaries in custody after arrest in Ogle County

A suspect in a series of recent residential burglaries in rural Winnebago County is in custody after being arrested following a residential burglary in Ogle County.

Terry Gene Yoho, 52, of Machesney Park, Ill., was arrested Wednesday, March 6. At approximately 11 a.m., March 6, a burglary to a home took place in Ogle County on McGregor Road. Winnebago County sheriff’s detectives were in the area and, with the assistance of patrol deputies, stopped a vehicle driven by Yoho shortly after the burglary. The vehicle was stopped at Cunningham and Meridian. Ogle County sheriff’s detectives were contacted and assisted with the investigation.

Yoho was charged with residential burglary in Ogle County. Investigation into other similar burglaries continues by Winnebago County and Ogle County detectives. Additional charges are possible.

Numerous residential burglaries have taken place in rural Winnebago County in the past several weeks. Unoccupied homes have been entered by having doors forced open. Large-screen televisions and electronic items have been taken. Winnebago County sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation that identified Yoho as a suspect in those cases.
