Hello, boys and girls,

As you may know, we have spent the last year working hard and having fun getting the buzz around town about our business. We’ve been at several farmers’ markets and concert events. I’ve been offering home deliveries of my delicious pies for more than two years, and last year I began baking at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center (formerly First Presbyterian Church) at 406 N. Main St., Rockford. We have now been able to offer pick-up by appointment only.

Since 1884, the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has been offering exciting, personal, interactive music experiences to the northern Illinois area. This campus offers a multitude of music workshops, concerts and classes.

We feel the time is right, and the location is perfect, to expand our business, Kate’s Pie Shop & Record Store, here in the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center.

We have created a fund-raising campaign with entre funding. This locally-owned crowd-funding site will allow us to share our idea within the online community and encourage patrons of the arts to provide support in exchange for benefits. By soliciting small individual donations from a larger pool of people, we hope to raise between $5,000 and $10,000.

We need your help to complete this project. We are committed to keeping our business in the cultural corridor of Rockford and to doing our part in helping to revitalize the downtown. Support the arts and buy local. Thank you.
