Pec River Foundation’s Spring Thaw fund-raiser March 23 in Lena, Ill.

LENA, Ill. — Friends of the Pecatonica River Foundation’s (FPRF) first Spring Thaw fund-raiser will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at Rafters Restaurant, 9426 W. Wagner Road, Lena, Ill., in the second-floor banquet hall.

Dinner menu includes chef-carved sirloin, roasted baby red potatoes, corn, salad, roll, coffee or tea. Admission is $18 in advance, $20 at the door. A kids’ meal of chicken strips and french fries is also available (cost is $7 for ages 5-12; free for children younger than 5).

A silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the Pecatonica River in Stephenson County and the Atten’s Landing Project, will also be held at the event.

The FPRF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

FPRF’s monthly meeting will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 21, also at Rafters Restaurant, in the café dining room. FPRF President Joe Ginger will conduct the meeting, which will address Atten’s Landing, 2013 river events and activities, river development, maintenance, and recreation in Stephenson County.
