After5 Jazz in ‘Jazz at Emerson’ March 21

Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center’s next “Jazz at Emerson” concert with the After5 Jazz will be at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 21, at the historic Emerson House on the Mendelssohn PAC campus, 420 N. Main St., Rockford.

After5 Jazz consists of Thom Fishe on drums and percussion, Dave Ross on keyboard, Evon Sams on alto/tenor sax and flute, and Greg Clough on upright and electric bass. For this concert, After5 Jazz will be performing classic favorites like “Take The A Train,” “Misty” and “Three to Get Ready.”

Jazz at Emerson” is held one Thursday per month, 5:30-7 p.m., at the Emerson House. Concertgoers can enjoy the swinging sounds of jazz, relax with a glass of wine and light refreshments, and meet the performers after the program. Doors open at 5 p.m. Seating is limited. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students. Proceeds will benefit the musicians and the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center.
