Womanspace will host a celebration of World Labyrinth Day at its on-campus labyrinth from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at 3333 Maria Linden Drive in Rockford.
Participants will walk the labyrinth as part of the “Walk as One at 1” initiative, in which people from every time zone create a wave of labyrinth walking around the planet as a show of unity and to manifest good in the world. Presenter James Frazier will follow with a discussion about labyrinths, their history and spiritual use throughout time.
The Womanspace labyrinth is the largest of its kind in Rockford at 80 feet in diameter and is modeled after the labyrinth in the Chartes Cathedral in France. It was created by a group of 12 women volunteers between 2001 and 2003.
Womanspace is a not-for-profit organization offering programs for women, men and children to enhance body, mind and spirit, with a focus on the creative arts, holistic health, interfaith exploration and environmental stewardship.
