Clad in green gardening aprons, volunteers from Bankers Life and Casualty Company’s Rockford branch sales office will take to the streets Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. In exchange for donations, they’ll give packets of forget-me-not flower seeds to donors, encouraging them to plant the seeds in honor of the estimated 5 million Americans with Alzheimer’s disease.
All money collected will go to the Alzheimer’s Association. The majority of it will stay in the community to benefit the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.
Locally, volunteers will be collecting at the following locations throughout the day both days: intersection of Alpine Road and Broadway/Newburg; Walgreen’s at 1145 N. Alpine Road; Walgreen’s at 2525 S. Alpine Road; and Walgreen’s at 5900 N. Second St., Loves Park, Ill.
Forget Me Not Days, now in its 11th year, is a nationwide fund-raiser sponsored by Bankers Life and Casualty Company, a national life and health insurer.
