‘Hiking for Hounds’ at Klehm June 2

Staff Report

Rockford’s Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, 2715 S. Main St., will host “Hiking for Hounds” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, June 2.

It’s time for Klehm’s annual celebration of our best friend — the dog. Bring your canine friends to spend the day enjoying and exploring the 155 acres of gardens and grounds. The Community Dog Walk is meant to be informal and fun, so there are no scheduled programs. Visitors are encouraged to offer cash donations to support Kibble Korner, Rockford’s pet food pantry.

Kibble Korner has a mission to keep the area’s pets fed and in the homes they know and love.

As families struggle with the loss of jobs, donations to Kibble Korner can make all the difference in sparing children, parents and the family pet the heartache of separation.

Cash donations allow Kibble Korner to purchase pet food at a discount, so donations go much further. Learn more at kibblekorner.com. Dogs must be leashed and well behaved.

Half-price admission that day is $3 adults, $1.50 seniors, kids and students. Members are admitted free.

Klehm can be reached at (815) 965-8146.
