Spotlight Youth Theater presents ‘Les Miserables School Edition’

Online Staff Report

Students ages 8-18 of Spotlight Youth Theater will present Les Miserables School Edition from May 24-June 2 at Rockford College in Clark Arts Center, 5050 E. State St.

Les Miserables School Edition is based on the original, Tony Award-winning musical, Les Miserables, an epic tale about the struggles of 19th-century France.

The story recounts the recent release of inmate Jean Valjean, who was imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread. Jean Valjean struggles for redemption and freedom from his past and from the relentless Inspector Javier.

Les Miserables School Edition is emotionally charged with the original music that made the show so popular, including “I Dreamed a Dream,” “One Day More,” “On My Own,” and many more. You won’t want to miss being a part of this powerful musical.
