Experience chemistry, physics, art and music and how they all relate to our most explosive national holiday during “Kaboom!” from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday, July 4-5, at Discovery Center Museum, 711 N. Main St., Rockford.
Spud guns, rockets, sparklers and flags! Science and art join hands for this weekend celebration. Experiment with explosions, launch mini rockets, construct a potato popper and more. Create your own light-up wand, make and eat snow cones, and create patriotic art.
Patrons may leave their vehicles parked at Riverfront Museum Park and walk downtown to the parade and fireworks July 4.
All Kaboom! activities are included with museum admission of $8 per person or free to Discovery Center members.
General admission to the museum is $8 adults, $8 children (ages 2-17) and free to museum members and children age 1 and younger. Hours open are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., seven days a week.
