Sunday, July 14, Radio Disney AM 1300 and Magic Waters Waterpark, 7820 CherryVale N. Blvd., Cherry Valley, Ill., are providing guests the chance to meet several Radio Disney stars.
Members of the band IM5, along with Chloe and Halle, winners of season five of the Next Big Thing, will all be on hand to meet with fans from 3 to 5 p.m.
The Radio Disney AM 1300 Road Crew will also be on site with interactive entertainment and prizes.
Regular admission rates to the waterpark apply, and guests must have a wristband to meet the Radio Disney stars. Meet and Greet wristbands will be handed out several times by the Radio Disney Road Crew inside Magic Waters Waterpark beginning at 10:30 a.m., while supplies last. One wristband per person; must be present to receive wristband.
In case of inclement weather, the meet-and-greet will be at the Indoor Sports Center, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd., Loves Park, Ill., from 3 to 5 p.m.
Founded by American Idol creator Simon Fuller, media icon Perez Hilton, and acclaimed tour director Jamie King, the band was discovered on a national talent search that began in 2011. The multi-cultured quintet is composed of band members Cole Pendery, Dalton Rapattoni, Dana Vaughns, Gabe Morales and Will Jay. In April of 2012, the group was featured on the Tyler James Williams song “Don’t Run Away,” which was also the lead track from the Disney feature film Let It Shine. “Everything About U,” the band’s first digitally released song, was released in June 2012. Chloe and Halle have performed on the Ellen show twice, have acted in movies and TV with actors such as Angela Bassett, Queen Latifah, Tyler Perry, Beyonce and Courtney Vance. Some of the projects Chloe and Halle have been involved in are, Meet the Browns, House of Payne, The Fighting Temptations, The Last Holiday, Gospel Hill, Joyful Noise and Disney’s Let it Shine.

Sun Safety Day
Learn how to have fun and be safe in the sun at the same time at Sun Safety Day at Magic Waters Waterpark Sunday, July 14. Lifeguards will be conducting informative learning programs at 1 and 4 p.m. The first 2,000 guests will receive a free sunscreen product. Swimming and Diving Championships
The Rockford Park District will host the Swimming and Diving Championships from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at Alpine Pool, 4310 Newburg Road, Rockford. Swimmers will compete in a variety of events, including: diving, freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and individual medleys. USA Swimming and Diving rules are followed for this competition. Each entrant is allowed to compete in a total of three swim events and one diving event. Heats are also available for children and adults with disabilities. Spectators are welcome, and there is a fee of $2.25.
