FREEPORT, Ill. — Honor the memory and legacy of Spencer Tracy this August with the Second Annual Spencer Tracy Film Festival Aug. 23-25 at Lindo Theatre in Freeport, Ill. Tickets are $5 per film. Tickets are available at the Lindo Theatre box office, 115 S. Chicago Ave., in downtown Freeport.
Tracy’s granddaughter-in-law, Cyndi Tracy, and his great grandson, Shane Tracy, will attend the Friday night screening of Boom Town and participate in a discussion about the film at the end of the screening.
Join in a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception before the feature movie Friday, Aug. 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. The reception is $20 per person and will take place at 9 East Coffee, at 9 E. Stephenson St. in Freeport. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a copy of the book Spencer Tracy: A Life in Pictures, featuring a Foreword by Stephenson County Historical Society Executive Director Dr. Edward Finch and Preface by Cyndi Tracy, who will be available to autograph copies. A silent auction of Spencer Tracy memorabilia donated by Cyndi Tracy will also be held with proceeds from the auction and reception going to the Society’s Tracy Film Festival Fund.
