AURORA, Ill. — Gas price averages for Illinois and Indiana are falling slightly as the summer driving season comes to an end. Illinois and Indiana drivers are paying, on average, $3.76 and $3.62, respectively, for a gallon of regular unleaded.

In August in Illinois, gas prices averaged $3.70, which was down 14 cents from July and down 33 cents from a year ago. In northern Indiana, gas prices averaged $3.65 in July, which was down 11 cents from July and down 35 cents from August 2012.
