Rockton Township Historical Society offers free admission as part of ‘Museum Day Live!’ Sept. 28

ROCKTON, Ill. — Rockton Township Historical Society will open its doors free of charge Saturday, Sept. 28, as part of Smithsonian magazine’s ninth annual “Museum Day Live!” A nationwide event, Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket (10 a.m.-2 p.m). Displays include the history of our area since it was settled, including rare Civil War items.

This is an opportunity for everyone to see what a treasure we are,” said Marilyn Mohring, board president.

The Museum Day Live! Ticket is available to download at Visitors who present the Museum Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues for one day only. The Rockton Township Historical Society is at 529 Green St., Rockton, Ill., and can be reached at (815) 624-8200.
