BELVIDERE, Ill. — Belvidere’s Summerfield Zoo, 3088 Flora Road, will present its fourth annual “Boo at the Zoo” event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20.

Yvette McGreane, volunteer at Summerfield Zoo, said: “We are excited to be continuing the tradition of Boo at the Zoo. Boo at the Zoo is a fun, family event for all. We have a lot of special events planned for the weekend, including kids’ costume contests, trick or treating, a headless horseman, and so much more.”

Admission is $8 per adult, $6 per senior, and $5 per child. All proceeds go to the care of all the animals, many of which are rescues.

Enjoy animal presentations, pony rides, feed the petting zoo animals, and shop the gift shop. Special presentations will be given by the “Headless Horseman.” The winner of each costume contest receives a 2013 season pass.

Summerfield Zoo is a not-for-profit organization providing an up-close-and-personal animal experience for the whole family. With a small zoo, visitors can get up close and meet many of the animals.
